One of Ben’s top priorities is addressing traffic gridlock facing Southern California and other parts of the state. He has successfully advocated for increased funding for public transit that will provide people with affordable, convenient alternatives to driving.
Ben serves on the Transportation and Housing Committee which led the effort to provide state funding for major public transit projects passed in April, 2017. It was the first major investment in transportation infrastructure in more than 20 years, and Ben worked with a coalition of legislators from congested urban areas to double the amount of funding allocated for public transit in the legislation. These funds are available to accelerate completion of major public transit projects, such as the Purple Line subway on the Westside, the Green Line to LAX and the South Bay, and other projects.
